The most critical part of reproducing your artworks
is the Digital Capture and Colour Correction.

Without a perfect file, that is colour-matched to your original, the chances of a great Giclee Fine Art Reproduction is slim.
Copying artwork is a skill like any other and simply owning a good camera won’t cut it,
just like owning a great oven doesn’t make you a great cook!

We have over 80 years combined photography experience and
have copied over 35,000 artworks since 2001 and have dealt with every conceivable challenge.

Here’s how the process works…

Consultation

First we chat with you about your expectations and how you plan to use the image.

This is the fun part where you learn about all the possibilities available to you when you have that perfect digital file!

You may be a beginner just wanting a copy for a friend, someone who is keen to start growing their art business or a seasoned professional artist looking for that extra edge – we will work equally with all of you!

We cover all your questions, fears and expectations so you feel extremely confident you are in the right hands.

Capture

We capture your artwork, using our specialised techniques to ensure your reproductions will be colour correct and faithfully reproduce all the detail and tones of the original.

We print a 30cm proof print for your approval and your digital file is saved in up to 5 formats for your use and uploaded to a shared folder online for your access.

Our photographic capture process is superior to anything else we’ve seen out there so we are confident in providing you with the ultimate file quality.

Celebration

When you see your first proof, you get so excited you say things like… “Wow! That’s better than the Original!”.

Maybe you aren’t building a serious art business, that’s OK, you can order what you want, when you want.

If you are serious about a business then this is when your marketing begins and sales follow.

We even provide you with printing costs for a range of products and a retail price calculator to help you in your business.

You might also consider joining our TCASS program.

Why choose us to copy your art?

Just like there are specialist doctors, copying art is a specialty, we are the Neurosurgeons of the art copy industry. Don’t trust your art capture to the local GP, or worse… yourself!

While there are some great professional photographers out there, great with weddings, portraits and landscapes, they are not art copy specialists and without the right studio setup, colour management skills, techniques and experience they cannot match what we do.

Like I said above – owning a great camera does not mean great art copy. So many people contact us saying they’ve copied their art on a good camera but they’ve used poor lighting, have very little in the way of Photoshop skills, they work in the wrong colour-space, save the file in the wrong format, use un-calibrated monitors so their chances of producing a great reproduction reduce with each step.

Remember this… Selling a poor quality reproduction will affect your reputation. You want your clients to be as excited about the quality of the reproductions they purchase as you were when you first saw the proof!

Our unique techniques capture incredible detail!

The Original artwork was 50 x 40cm and can easily be printed 150 x 120cm with this detail!

Technical bit below – skip if it gets too scary!

Everyone get’s fooled by the term “High Resolution File” – it’s a mis-used term – it should be “APPROPRIATE RESOLUTION“.

Almost every day someone sends us their ‘high resolution’ files, taken on a “good camera”, only to be disappointed when we tell them that the digital file of their 100 x 100cm artwork is only good enough for a 25x25cm print!

You see, every reproduction print file, or website file, or brochure file or a file to print wallpaper needs a file that is appropriately sized for that job. The image you use on Facebook should be appropriately sized to a maximum of 2048px on the long edge for best results. That same image needs to be 11,811pixels if you want to print a 100cm wide print. Enlarging the Facebook image will result in a lousy quality print… but making the larger file smaller (a more appropriate size) for Facebook will work just fine.

The files we supply you will be captured in such a way as to provide files appropriate for almost any purpose imaginable, from cards to the largest art reproductions printable and we can resize our files down to suit any purpose because we always start with the largest possible file!

Here’s how our equipment compares to other cameras out there – Sensor size and Megapixels are important but there is a lot more to it. We use the big bit of kit on the left! We spend more on one lens than most people spend on their whole kit!

Every sensor is made up of a certain number of pixels. Divide those numbers by 300 (Pixels per inch) and you have the printable size in inches (I’ve converted that to CM below). Notice the different sensor sizes on each camera above – the smaller the sensor, the poorer the quality.
